Touch a Truck 2025

Our Touch a Truck event on May 17th was a tremendous success, hosting roughly 1,500 people who climbed in vehicles, enjoyed giveaways, and learned through our educational posters. We extend our thanks to the NRC for bringing their watershed table and puppet show. As part of our community outreach, we donated 176 pieces of clothing including men's and women's pants, dresses, sweaters, shirts, suits, jackets, and accessories, along with 47 food items such as beans, pasta, peanut butter, and pantry staples to support local families in need. 


We look forward to seeing everyone again next year for another fantastic community event!

Wellesley DPW Open House - Touch-A-Truck Event

When: Saturday, May 17, 9am-12pm (Sensory hour: 11am-12pm - no lights, music, or horns)

Where: DPW Headquarters (30 Municipal Way)Part of: Wellesley's Wonderful Weekend

Highlights:

  • Explore electric equipment, dump trucks, street sweepers, front loaders and more
  • Learn about composting options, Water Utility portal, RDF app, and other services
  • Donation opportunities:
    1. StepUp! - Donate business attire for Suits for Success (helping job seekers)
    2. Fill-A-Truck - Non-perishable food for Wellesley Food Pantry (serving 200 households)
      • Needed: Peanut butter (16oz), boxed cereal (except Cheerios), nuts, honey, dishwashing liquid
