Sidewalk Construction

CaptureThe Department of Public Works is replacing and adding sections of public sidewalks and sidewalk ramps this fall. This work is part of Wellesley's plan to incorporate and implement Complete Streets principles in street and transportation projects.  Once this work is completed, we hope residents and visitors enjoy these improvements to Wellesley neighborhoods.

Visit the Sidewalk Construction Map for up-to-date information.  Work is scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weather permitting.  Please use care when navigating around work areas.

Scheduled Sidewalk Renovations for September & October 2023

  • Brook Street (Hampden St. to Solon St.) - Replace 220 ft. of Sidewalk
  • Cameron Street (Hampden St. to Fuller Brook Path) - Replace 260 ft. of sidewalk and install 100 ft. of granite curb
  • Cameron Street (Library driveway to parking lot driveway) - Replace 180 ft. of sidewalk - Completed
  • Grove Street (South of Spring Street) - Replace 160 ft. of sidewalk - Completed
  • Hampden Street (Brook St. to Cameron St.) - Replace 560 ft. of sidewalk and install new ADA Ramp
  • Hampden Street (Elliot St. to Middlesex St.) - Replace 240 ft. of sidewalk - Re-scheduled for 2024
  • Hampden Street (Middlesex St. to Brook St.) - Replace 440 ft. of sidewalk
  • Hickory Road @ Woodbine Road  - Install new ADA Ramp - Re-scheduled for 2024
  • Middlesex Street (From Solon St. ) - Replace 100 ft. of sidewalk and install new ADA Ramp - scope of work revised 9/21/23
  • Pinewood Road @ Pinewood Circle - Install two new ADA Ramps - Re-scheduled for 2024
  • Solon Street (Middlesex St. to Brook St.) - Install 300 ft. of sidewalk- Re-scheduled for 2024
  • Spring Street (Grove St. to Cameron St.) Replace 300 ft. of sidewalk - Completed

  • Forest Street (#9 Forest to Grant Ave.) -New Sidewalk Ramps and Replacement of 240 ft. of Sidewalk
  • Forest Street @ Paine Street - Three New Sidewalk Ramps
  • Smith Street @ Fuller Brook Parking Lot - Two New Sidewalk Ramps
  • Calvin Road @ Wellesley Middle School - Replacement of 85 ft. of Sidewalk
  • Ayer Road (Wall St. to Kingsbury St.) - New Sidewalk Ramps @ Wall St. and Replacement of 300 ft. of Sidewalk
