Complete Streets Projects 

Wellesley Square street imageComplete Streets (CS) are designed and operated to provide safety and accessibility for all users of our roadways, trails and transit systems. They also contribute to the safety, health, economy and quality of life in our community by providing important links between home, school, work, play and shopping areas through improved, more accessible walking, biking, and driving routes.

Projects

Wellesley DPW, in partnership with the Town Mobility Director, works to help complete the projects prioritized in the complete the Complete Streets Plan.  The projects may be large-scale or more focused on specific transportation modes. 

Funding

In summer 2025,  DPW will continue repairing, replacing, and adding sections of sidewalks and sidewalk ramps. This year the Town received a $500,000 Complete Street Grant from the State. The funds from this grant will allow the department to complete three (3) projects identified in the Town’s Complete Streets List note below.

Amherst Road  - New Sidewalk, that will create a continues connection between Wellesley Avenue to Radcliff Road.

Alba Road, Wall Street and Windemere Road - New Sidewalks, to complete missing gaps to create a connecting sidewalk from these roads to Linden Street sidewalk.

Dover Road & Ingrahm Road - New Sidewalks, to complete missing gaps on the Ingraham Road sidewalk and extending the Dover Road sidewalk between Ingraham Road and Benvenue Street.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience that you may experience and hope you enjoy these improvements to your neighborhood once they have been completed.
