Brook and Benvenue Streets Intersection Improvement
The Brook and Benvenue Street Intersection Improvement project was completed in 2019. The work included the reconfiguration of Brook Street, Benvenue Street and Radcliffe Road intersection. Additional work consisted of storm drainage improvements, relocating a utility pole and traffic island, sidewalks and pavement work. There is no scheduled work at this intersection for the foreseeable future.
7 AM - 5 PM
Final roadway paving is planned for the Brook Street & Benvenue Street Intersection Improvement project. On Friday, September 27, the intersection area will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Detours will be in place for Brook Street, Benvenue Street and Radcliffe Road; drivers may experience slight delays.
Wellesley Police officers and DPW staff will be on-site to direct traffic through these detours. The intersection will re-open once work is completed.
Please note road detours will continue to be in place to accomplish the work in the intersection area. Detours and detour signage will be setup for the intersection and surrounding area, with limited access through the intersection area. Police officers and DPW staff will be on site to assist with detours.
Work will take place Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Police details will be on-site during construction to minimize impacts to traffic, parking, and other roadway functions. The work is scheduled to be completed in October 2019.
Work on the Brook Street & Benvenue Street Intersection Improvement Project is scheduled to begin July 1, 2019. The work to be accomplished involves the reconfiguration of the Brook Street, Benvenue Street and Radcliffe Road intersection. The project work will include removal of the delta island, utility pole relocation, excavation, pavement milling, full depth asphalt pavement, hot mix asphalt overlay, drainage, sidewalk, wheelchair ramps, granite curbing, hot mix asphalt berm, reconfigure residential driveways at intersection area, highway guardrail, pavement markings, regulatory and construction operation signage, landscaping and other incidental work.
The work will be accomplished by I.W. Harding Construction Co., Inc. and their subcontractors, under the direction of the Town of Wellesley Department of Public Works. The work is scheduled to be completed in October.
Work will take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Police details will be on-site during the project construction to minimize impacts to traffic, parking, and other roadway functions. A minimum of one lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained throughout the majority of the project.
