Update September 17, 2025

The project is transitioning to coordinated pavement work consisting of a deep cold planeing of the road closely followed by the installation of a new base pavement layer. This will involve both night and day work and will include prolonged road closures with detours. In anticipation of this crews will begin lowering road structures. Immediately after the base pavement is installed work will continue with the installation of granite curbing along with sidewalk reconstruction.

Update September 15, 2025

Lower existing utility structures during the daytime hours from 8:30am to 2:00pm.

Update September 12, 2025

The Weston Road reconstruction project is underway. Milling and binder paving is planned for September. Notices will be sent as soon as the schedule is available. Curbing and sidewalk work will continue through the fall and final paving, signs, and pavement markings will be completed in the spring.

Update August 14, 2025

The drainage work is ongoing and expected to be completed this week. Installation of granite curbing has started, and sidewalk reconstruction will commence next week. During the road detour period, the focus was on subsurface utility and tree work, necessitating the road closure. This progress will allow the project to move forward with curbing, sidewalk, and ADA panel installations, resulting in only shoulder or one-lane road impacts throughout the fall.

Work hours are from 7am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Starting Wednesday, August 27th, the road detour schedule will be adjusted. Road users and residents should anticipate detours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30am to 2:30pm. At other times, there may be one-lane closures.

Please expect traffic delays, allow extra travel time, or use alternate routes if possible, during construction hours. Police details will be present to assist with vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Update July 30, 2025

The drainage work to install the new catch basin structures is taking place near the Beechwood Road intersection. The work will continue northward up to the Pine Plain Road intersection and should be completed by the end of August. The granite curb installation work is expected to begin thereafter in September.

The work will require road closures along certain sections of Weston Road between Worcester Street (Rt. 9) and the Weston Town line from time to time. Detour signage and road closure signs will be installed. The work is expected to take place between the hours of 7am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. The road will be open only to residents who reside in this section of Weston Road and the dead-end side streets.

Please anticipate traffic delays. Police details will be present to help with vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Give yourself extra travel time or use alternative routes if possible while traveling in this area during the construction hours.

Update July 15, 2025

Tree work to remove several large diameter trees that have overgrown the right of way and become impediments to accessibility, located on the westbound side between Parker Road and Woodfield Road will be performed this week. The drainage work is still ongoing until the end of August.

Update June 30, 2025

The water main installation is complete. The next phase of the project involves installation of the drainage pipe and drainage structures. We are anticipating this work to take place during the months of July and August.

Update June 2, 2025

The Weston Road reconstruction project is ongoing. A new 12-inch diameter water main is currently being installed to replace the old main from Boulder Brook Road to the Weston town line.

The daytime work hours are Monday - Friday from 8:30am to 2:30pm when school is in session and 8am to 4pm during the summer (non-school days). The nighttime work hours will be from 9pm to 5am and will begin in April-June 2026 for the roadway milling, paving and line marking operations.

Please anticipate sidewalk closures, roadway detours, closures and traffic delays. Police details will be present to help with vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Give yourself extra travel time or use alternative routes if possible while traveling in this area during the construction hours.

Weston Road Reconstruction Monthly Schedule

May to June (2025)

Mobilization of safety signs and tree protection.
Install temporary watermain by-pass and services.
Replace old water main and install new water main from Boulder Brook Road to the Weston Town line.
Water service replacements for houses 339, 340, 343, 344, 351, 356, 360, 364, 365, 447, 449, 453, 456, 457, 471, 478 and 484 Weston Road.

July to August (2025)

Replace old drainage system and install new drainage system from Worcester Street to the Weston Town line.

September to October (2025)

Granite curb installation.
Sidewalk and wheelchair ramp excavation and construction.

October to November (2025)

Shoulder work, loam, seed and clean up for winter.

April to May (2026)

Mill roadway surface, install stress absorbing membrane interlayer and add leveling pavement course.

May (2026)

Final sidewalk paving.
Adjust utility castings to final height.
Final roadway paving.

June (2026)

Final roadway pavement markings.
Final clean up.
