Electrification and Efficiency Rebates
To apply for an Electrification and Efficiency Rebate, please complete and sign our online form.
If you cannot complete it online: Print, complete, sign, and mail or bring the PDF version, along with supporting documentation (receipt or invoice, yellow Energy Guide label) to our Customer Service desk.

Important Notes
- Rebate application must be submitted within six (6) months of equipment purchase or weatherization installation.
- The qualifying equipment/service must be new and permanently installed at the customer account’s service address. Temporary, mobile, or portable equipment are not eligible for the rebates.
- Wellesley residents who are customers of National Grid are not eligible for WMLP rebates for heat pumps, heat pump water heaters (if replacing a gas water heater), weatherization, or induction cooktops/stoves (if replacing a gas stove). Please refer to the table below and the MassSave® rebate webpage.
- New construction projects are ineligible for WMLP rebates, including new additions and major or gut renovations where the equipment is needed to comply with the current building code.

Notes:
(1) The maximum number or dollar amount of rebates issued to the same customer account shall not be exceeded for the preceding 10 years, except for the number of wireless thermostats which shall reset for all customer accounts on July 1, 2024. All rebate frequency limits reset with a new customer account.
(2) For these uses, National Grid (natural gas) customers are eligible for MassSave®'s rebates and not WMLP rebates. Please refer to the MassSave® rebate webpage here.
Rebate Eligibility Requirements
- Rebate application must be submitted within six (6) months of equipment purchase or weatherization installation.
- Customer must have an active electric account in good standing with the WMLP (at least 6 months of satisfactory payments with no past due balance at time of application) on the residential service rate. Newer customers who have less than 6 months of satisfactory payment history with the WMLP may provide a letter or copy of bill statements from their previous electric utility. The qualifying equipment/service must be permanently installed at the account’s service address. Temporary, mobile, or portable equipment are not eligible for the rebates.
- Only new equipment is eligible for the rebates. Leased equipment and equipment included in the purchase of a residence are not eligible for the rebates.
- New construction projects are ineligible for WMLP rebates, including new additions and major or gut renovations where the equipment is needed to comply with the current building code.
- Proof of Purchase must be provided to WMLP in the form of a copy or photo of the sales receipt or invoice that must show the purchase date and price, store or contractor name, and except for weatherization, the equipment brand/manufacturer and model number(s). If a contractor invoice is being provided for a rebate other than weatherization, it must clearly show the equipment information and cost separately (from the installation and other costs).
- Customers are subject to the rebate limits (frequency and amounts) specified above for each equipment/service type.
- Where applicable, new equipment must be EnergyStar® certified. A copy of the yellow Energy Guide label showing the Energy Star® logo is required.
- WMLP reserves the right to verify installation of each item (and if applicable, conversion or replacement of the old item) for which a rebate is requested.
- WMLP reserves the right to modify or terminate these rebates at any time.
- WMLP rebate will not include any sales tax paid, installation costs (except weatherization), and exceed the purchase price.
- The WMLP will issue the rebate in the form of a check mailed to the customer’s mailing address on record. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for processing.
