The Highway Division is resurfacing streets this summer.
Phase 1 of the DPW's chipseal/capeseal project is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 1, and Phase 2 is scheduled for later in July.
The following roadways will be resurfaced in Phase 1:
Baystate Road, Damien Road, Edmunds Road, Fairbanks Road Fiske Road, Kipling Road, Saunders Terrace, Tennyson Road, Beechwood Terrace, Berkley Road, Garrison Road, Leewood Road, Nobscot Road, Shirley Road Avon Road, Carlton Road, Elliot Street, Middlesex Road, Solon Street, Woodbine Road, Cedar Street, Clifford Street, Cottonwood Road, Swathmore Road, Wilson Street, and Berkshire Road.
Please watch for notifications and plan accordingly. No water can be present on the roadways - please turn off sprinkler systems and refrain from washing cars on the days your road is scheduled for work.
During the resurfacing, there is no parking on roadways from 7:00 AM through the completion of the work. After the application, rolling, and sweeping process, the street should reopen for normal traffic within one hour. For the first 24-hours please try to avoid turning vehicle tires sharply on the new surface.
This work is weather dependent. While all efforts will be made to complete the work on the scheduled dates, unexpected delays may arise. In this case, the work will be done the following day or as soon as possible.
