Wellesley department heads and staff recently completed Phase 1 of the DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) Equity Audit. 

In February and March 2024, Town employees attended eight foundational training workshops with consultant Racial Equity Group. 

Staff members learned about tools and metrics to help identify DEI inequities in our community, and how to conduct Gap and Barrier Analysis that will help evaluate Wellesley policies and practices against evidence-based best practices for advancing DEI work. 

The next phase of the equity audit will include a DEI Staff Survey Audit Assessment and meetings with Town officials and the DEI Task Force to develop a community-wide survey and plan for community focus group interviews.
