The Wellesley Select Board is accepting proposals for a Town-wide Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Equity Audit.
Through this Request for Proposal (RFP) process, Wellesley is seeking a consultant to expand upon the Town's current DEI initiatives and the work of the Wellesley DEI Task Force by conducting a broad equity audit, and to develop a comprehensive, meaningful DEI strategy based on the equity audit findings.
Interested individuals and firms are invited to submit proposals. Copies of the RFP are available via the Bid Postings section of the Town of Wellesley website or by emailing the Select Board Office.
The deadline to submit proposals is Friday, August 18, 2023 at Noon. Submitted proposals must be delivered to the temporary Select Board Office, 888 Worcester Street, Suite 120, Wellesley, MA 02482 in two clearly-marked, sealed envelopes. No late proposals will be accepted.
In April 2023, the DEI Task Force successfully proposed an Anti-Racism and Anti-Bias Resolution to Annual Town Meeting which included an appropriation of $100,000 to complete an equity audit for the Town. The equity audit is intended to be a broad study that assesses all aspects of equity – race, ethnicity, gender, national origin, color, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, socioeconomic status, or other socio-culturally significant factors.
Read the Equity Audit Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
The anticipated timeline to complete the equity audit is eight to twelve months.
