We want to thank the very nice anonymous woman who bought Officer Tim Barros lunch on Tuesday, April 21.
Officer Tim Barros (a self-proclaimed Wellesley lunch aficionado) headed over the Linden Store on Tuesday to obtain some sustenance during the day shift. Arriving at the always busy Linden Store, he donned his level 3 surgical mask and got into the socially distant, and now socially acceptable, line to await his chance to order a pastrami sandwich.
One of the owners, who saw him standing there, invited Officer Barros to cut the line so he could place his order faster. Several of the patrons also graciously offered to give up their space line to the veteran Wellesley Police Officer. Officer Barros though, wasn’t about to do that. He politely declined, and waited his turn to order like everyone else.
After placing his (masked) order, and preparing to pay, Officer Barros got a nice surprise…someone ahead of him in line had already paid for his meal, and wanted any change to be used a tip for the staff. When Officer Barros tried to find out who it was, no one seemed to remember who the generous woman was --A term we refer to as ‘selective memory’ in the police world.
Officer Barros was very touched by this act of kindness, and did not want to let it go unnoticed or unacknowledged. So, to whomever you are out there ma’am-Thanks for buying Officer Tim Barros his lunch on Tuesday. This act went a long way for us and we really appreciate it.
