Go for a hike, take pictures of nature and learn more about Wellesley's North 40!
Join the Natural Resources Commission (NRC) and the Wellesley Conservation Council for a weekend of outdoor activities and learn about the benefits of open space areas.
The community is encouraged to visit the North 40 vernal pool and new boardwalk, and check out the Weston Road community gardens.
On Saturday, September 28th from 10-11 a.m. the Wellesley Trails Committee will lead a guided walk through the North 40 woodland trails. The walk is open to all ages.
On Sunday, September 29th, take part in a bio-blitz to help inventory the bio-diversity at the North 40 using your smartphone.
Download the iNaturalist app and take pictures of plants, insects and any animals spotted in the area. iNaturalist online scientists will identify, map and record findings to help with future environmental research.
The North 40 is a 46-acre parcel of land that was purchased by the Town in 2014 and is part of Wellesley's natural resources.
