The Wellesley Police Department is pleased to welcome two new officers to the town and our department.
Wellesley Police Officers Glen Misho and Kim Harvey graduated from the 43rd MBTA Transit Police Academy on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. The graduation ceremony was held at historic Faneuil Hall in Boston. The class consisted of 16 various departments with 45 recruit officers.
The MBTA Transit Police Academy is approximately six months long. New recruits take over 1,000 hours of classroom and practical training in all areas of law enforcement. Upon graduation, Officers Misho and Harvey will now begin approximately 3 months of on the job field training with Wellesley Police Officers.
Officer Kim Harvey was formally recognized by the Transit Police Academy Staff. She received two awards during the ceremony, including the physical fitness award (best overall) and the Sergeant Sean Gannon Memorial Leadership Award.
The Wellesley Police would also like to recognize Natick Police Officer Jamie Verner, who graduated today and will start her law enforcement career. Officer Verner was a veteran dispatcher for the Wellesley Police and Fire Department prior to becoming a Natick Police Officer. Officer Verner received the Officer Sean Collier Memorial Award for academic achievement. Officer Verner had the highest academic average of her classmates.
