Want to know the value of property in Wellesley? That information and more is available from the Assessor's Office.
September 24 is National Assessor's Day, a chance to better understand the key work of the Town's Chief Assessor Donna McCabe and her staff.
The office administers Massachusetts property tax laws effectively and equitably.
While the Assessor's Office is part of town government, it must comply with Massachusetts General Laws and is regulated by the Department of Revenue (DOR).
The Assessor's main responsibility is to find the "full and fair cash value" of all taxable property including real estate, motor vehicles, and personal property.
Property taxes and auto excise taxes contribute to more than 85% of the Town of Wellesley operating budget.
More information, important assessing dates and resources for residents are available on the Assessor's Office webpages.
