Wellesley Fire Chief Rick DeLorie is the first fire official to win the Theodore Mann Regional Leadership Award, presented by the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) in Boston. 
DeLorie was recognized for his collaborative work with many municipal governments.
He serves as the current chair of MetroFire, an association of 34 Boston-area fire departments, coordinating mutual aid across the region. His work includes enabling integrated radio communications, to training for fire and medical response, to dealing with major emergencies.
MAPC is a regional planning agency serving 101 cities and towns in greater Boston. The Mann Award is given annually in memory of the Town of Newton's longest-serving mayor, Theodore "Teddy" Mann. It recognizes a municipal leader whose commitment to regional collaboration best exemplifies Mann's legacy.
