Help preserve Wellesley's historic neighborhoods and properties.
The Wellesley Historic District Commission is looking for candidates to fill a vacant seat on its board for a term beginning immediately and running through June 30, 2020.
The seven-member Commission is responsible for preserving and protecting the distinctive characteristics of buildings and places significant to the town's history; maintaining and improving the settings of these areas; and encouraging new designs compatible with existing buildings in the district.
Appointed by the Board of Selectmen to three-year terms, Commission members primarily review applications for architectural changes within the Cottage Street Historic District and four single building historic districts.
Candidates for the open position must be Wellesley residents. Applicants should send an email or a letter detailing their qualifications to the Wellesley Planning Department.
