Wellesley municipal buildings and departments, the Recycling and Disposal Facility (RDF), Wellesley Free Libraries, and Council on Aging (COA) will be closed on Friday, July 4 for Independence Day.
The RDF and Library main branch will be open on Saturday, July 5. Business for all other departments will resume on Monday, July 7.
Firework Safety
The Wellesley Fire Department is reminding everyone that fireworks are illegal in Massachusetts, unless operated by licensed professional companies.
Instead, WFD recommends these safe ways to celebrate:
- Use glow sticks or noisemakers.
- Enjoy red, white, and blue silly string and patriotic crafts.
- Show outdoor movies. Use your laptop as a projector and a sheet as a screen.
- Throw a USA birthday party, complete with cake
