[ARCHIVED] Properly Dispose of Christmas Trees

NRC Logo

Please don't dump Christmas trees on public land! The Wellesley Natural Resources Commission (NRC) is reminding residents to properly dispose of their Christmas trees in the coming weeks by taking them to the Wellesley Recycling and Disposal Facility (RDF) or signing up with local groups that offer Christmas tree removal services.

It is illegal to dump trees and other brush on town land. Discarded trees can clog sensitive wetland areas, take years to decompose and are very costly for the town to remove. The RDF accepts all trees in its yard waste area and grinds them into wood chips to be used around town in playgrounds and for landscaping.

Please be sure to remove all decorations and plastic tree bags before discarding trees.
