Wellesley held a twilight service on Tuesday, May 30 to honor the many men and women who gave their lives for our country. While we do not knw them all, we are free because of their brave sacrifice.
The Memorial Day ceremony began at Woodlawn Cemetery and continued at the War Memorial in front of Town Hall.
The event included the Select Board, members of the United States military both active-duty and retired, Massachusetts Representative Alice Peisch, the Wellesley Police and Fire Department honor guard and color guard, officers, and firefighters, along with the 2023 Wellesley War Memorial Scholarship recipients, Wellesley High School seniors Louis Cavallerano and Casey Zides.
Music for the ceremony was provided by the Wellesley High School jazz band directed by Steven Scott, and prayers were offered by Rabbi Mendy Bleich of the Wellesley/Weston Chabad.
Wellesley Deputy Veterans Services Officer TJ Tedeschi, U.S. Marine Corps (Ret.) gave the Memorial Day remarks.
Thank you to all who took part and attended.
