Wellesley's Linden Square will welcome four new businesses in the coming months.
Federal Realty Investment Trust, the property developers, have announced that three restaurants and a salon will begin a phased opening this spring. The businesses will be located on on both sides of Linden Street and are:
- Tatte Bakery & Cafe, serving coffee, food, pastries, and desserts
- Oath Pizza, serving hand-stretched, grilled, craft pizza
- Karma, serving Asian fusion food, sushi, and craft cocktails
- Atelier, a boutique salon moving to Linden Street from the Belclare Residences
In addition, beginning in February 2022, the Linden Square property will undergo an upgrade that includes new landscaping and updates to outdoor furnishings, building facades, and signage.
The Town continues to work to bring new energy to commercial areas. According to Wellesley's Assistant Executive Director Amy Frigulietti, these new businesses are benefitting from permitting changes that allow for expanded outdoor seating and updates to alcohol requirements.
In addition, two articles on the 2022 Annual Town Meeting warrant are also intended to ease alcohol restrictions for special activities to help attract new businesses to the community.
