Complete Streets is an approach to planning, designing and building a transportation network that provides safe access for all users of our roadways, sidewalks and transit systems. The Town can receive funding for qualified projects through grants from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT).
The current Complete Streets Plan was compiled in 2020 with public input, but priorities have changed as our community has grown.
Earlier this spring, community members took part in mapping exercises and completed a survey to help identify where safety improvements are needed and what criteria should be used to prioritize these improvements.
The Draft Prioritization Plan was developed from that input, and once finalized, it will be used as a guide to help the Town plan projects for the next five to 10 years.
Some desired projects do not fit the MassDOT funding program guidelines because they are on land not owned by the Town or are very complex and need additional design and public input.
