At the February 25, 2025 meeting the School Committee received and discussed the following presentations:

The Committee heard a presentation of the FY’25 Quarterly Financial Report (Quarter 2). Links to overview and detailed report. Cynthia Mahr, Assistant Superintendent for Finance & Operations led this update.

The Committee heard a presentation on the Mid-Year District Goals report. Members of the Administration’s senior team provided updates on the progress of the Year 2 work plan, goals and priorities in the District Strategic Plan.

The Committee then heard an update from Dr. David Lussier, WPS Superintendent, on his Superintendent Mid-Year Goals.

The Committee also then discussed updates to two School Committee priorities, Community Engagement and the Collective Bargaining School Committee Representative position for the Technology unit. Committee members, including the student representatives and METCO parent representatives, provided feedback on different ways to engage the community. Since Committee member Craig Mack’s tenure on School Committee ends with the Town election on March 4, Sharon Clarke has volunteered to replace him as the Committee representative for the Collective Bargaining with the Technology unit.

The Committee approved revisions to the School Committee policies: JG-R - Elementary Transfer Option, BDCB - Wellesley METCO Representative to Wellesley School Committee, and KDB - Public’s Right to Know.

The meeting ended with an appreciation of Craig Mack’s service on the School Committee. Craig has been a valued member of the Committee throughout his term and his unwavering commitment to the WPS students was noted by many in their appreciation. Thank you, Craig!
