At the November 12, 2024 meeting, the School Committee reviewed and discussed the following presentations:
Discussed the secondary school improvement plans (SIPs) Dr. Ito and Dr. Chisum presented their joint SIP, which they have developed with their staff and site councils, and aligned with our district strategic plan.
Discussion continued from 10-29-24 SC meeting about WMS and WHS Presentation of the Programs of Study for SY2025-26.

The Committee voted to approve the Program of Studies for SY2025-26.
The Committee discussed the WPS Annual Oct. 1 Enrollment report and approved the Enrollment Projection Table.This report and presentation provide both full accounting of the district’s present enrollment for SY 2024-25, along with projections for SY 2025-26, which will be used in the budgeting process.
The Committee continued discussion on the Academic Calendar Task Force (ACTF) process and findings. Discussion will continue at the 11/19 School Committee meeting (6:30pm via Zoom). A vote is planned for the December 10 meeting.The discussion follows the work of the ACTF which began in April 2024. The ACTF recommendation consisting of 4 Static Holidays (Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Lunar New Year, Eid al-Fitr) with removal of Diwali and Good Friday, was just voted on by the ACTF on October 24. Additional details can be found on the ACTF website.
Continued discussion on proposed District Goals for SY2024-25 and Superintendent goals and a vote is scheduled for the 11/19 meeting.
