The School Committee is re-introducing its newsletter this school year. Our hope is this will give community members a quick overview of what occurred at each meeting. Please email us with your thoughts and suggestions.

At the September 24, 2024 meeting, the School Committee...

Approved two student field trips. The first is for the eighth grade chorus, who will have the opportunity to sing at the beginning of a Providence Bruins game. The second is for an opportunity for Wellesley High School students to travel to the Portugal cities of Lisbon and Porto and the Azores, where they will engage in learning the history and culture of Portugal including art, customs and food.

Heard the FY’24 End of Year Financial Report presentation given by Cynthia Mahr, Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations, and had an opportunity to ask questions.

Heard the FY’25 Grant Update Presentation which was also given by Cynthia Mahr and approved the receipt of the fiscal year 2025 Federal and State grants as was discussed.

Discussed the FY’26 Preliminary Budget which included a review of a revised version of the FY’26 Budget Development Calendar.
