The School Committee is re-introducing its newsletter this school year. Our hope is this will give community members a quick overview of what occurred at each meeting. Please email us with your thoughts and suggestions.

September 10, 2024 School Committee Meeting Key Points: 

• Mulcahy Farm Plaque The School Committee approved the proposed language and plans, as discussed, for a commemorative plaque honoring the Mulcahy family and its contributions to the Town of Wellesley, to be installed at a location near the entrance to Sprague Fields from the Calvin Road parking lot, as best determined by Sharon Gray in consultation with the Department of Public Works (DPW). 
• FY’26 Draft Budget Calendar: The School Committee got an overview of the FY’26 budget calendar from Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations, Cynthia Mahr. The Select Board and Executive Director for the town will be providing the School Committee with budget guidelines. The School Committee will also review an enrollment update and program of studies update provided by WPS. The School Committee will then provide budget development guidance to the administration of WPS after that. 
  
• Recap and Key Takeaways from School Committee Retreat: The School Committee provided a recap of what was covered during their 9/5/24 retreat. An overview of the presentation can be found here.
