Volunteer Updates
Community Service Bears
The Community Service Bears group is back sewing after taking a summer break. The adorable teddy bears are made with TLC and lovingly go to various nonprofits for people of all ages in need of some comfort. Bears are also donated to Newton Wellesley Hospital, local police, fire and health departments, and other area organizations. If you know of an organization with clients or patients who would benefit from receiving a bear, please let us know. New volunteer participants are always welcome to join this friendly group. Sewing skills are helpful but helping hands for pattern cutting and stuffing are needed too. The group meets weekly on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 am.
Volunteer Grocery Bus Assistants Needed!
Volunteers are needed to ride the COA bus on Wednesday Mornings (Roche Bros) and Tuesday Afternoons (Food Pantry). Volunteers assist passengers in loading and unloading their grocery bags. This is a fun opportunity to socialize with the shoppers while providing assistance to the bus drivers. Contact Sally Miller, Volunteer Coordinator, for more information.
