Costumes in Film: Golden Age of Hollywood (online)

Through their creations, costume designers have left lasting impressions on cinema audiences from the early days of Hollywood. Stars like Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, and many more shined their light during the Golden Age of Hollywood; their classic outfits continue to inspire fashion and define style even today. In this program, Lena Borovci will take a close look at some of the most memorable moments of costumes in film during the time period between the 1920s and 1960s, and the role of the designer to bring characters to life through costumes, focusing on classic moments from film favorites and the untold stories of the creative talent working behind the scenes to dress the stars. 

Did you make a linoleum block print once in high school? Maybe it
was years ago and you haven’t tried since. Or maybe you’ve never
had the opportunity to make a block print – a distinctive and dramatic
art form with a long history and a modern feel. In this workshop,
you’ll carve and print a relief block using rubber, which is softer and
easier (and safer) to carve than linoleum or wood. From note cards
to limited edition artwork, there are a variety of possible projects.
Whether you’ve tried your hand at print-making before or are new
to the art, you’re sure to learn, have fun, and go home with your
own work of art

the shoulder. Learn some anatomy, why it can bother us from time to
time, and what we can do about it!
