SAVE THE DATE - Special Town Meeting

A Fall Special Town Meeting is tentatively scheduled to begin on Monday October 25, 2021. The meeting will continue on Tuesday October 26 and Wednesday October 27. If needed, the meeting will continue on Tuesday November 2nd. While it is hoped to be in-person, the Select Board will be making the final date and venue decisions later in August. Please stay tuned!

Have you Moved?

Town Meeting Members are required to be residents of Wellesley. If you have moved out of Town, please contact KCKato@wellesleyma.gov as soon as possible to allow the vacancy to be filled prior to Special Town Meeting.

Any Town Meeting Member who has moved within Town may represent their precinct until the next Annual Town Election.

Seeking New Town Meeting Members

Due to recent move-outs, there are Town Meeting Member vacancies in Precincts C, D and E. Special Elections will be conducted the week of October 4th. Please let your neighbors know of the vacancies. Anyone interested in running for Town Meeting Member should email KCKato@wellesleyma.gov for more information.

Potential Changes to Precincts

Every 10 years, Census data is used to review and rebalance the populations within districts and precincts. The preliminary estimated data indicates that at least 6 of 8 precincts will be redrawn slightly. Potentially, all precincts will be affected. Per the Town Meeting Special Act, all Town Meeting Members in revised precincts will be required to run for office. The re-precincting effort is underway and will be finalized in the fall after final Census data is released.
