Dear Tolles Parsons Center members,
Over the next week or so, we will be calling our participants to see how you are faring, see if you need any assistance, and to simply catch up. You will likely hear a new voice! During this period we’re onboarding two new part-time Department Assistants who will become familiar faces at the front desk when we re-open.
One, Sarah Paglione, has been a greeter at the TPC since 2019, so her voice may be familiar to you. The other new Department Assistant is Roslyn Comenitz, who is also a friendly and welcome addition to our team. So, if you see the COA number pop up on your phone, it’s likely Sarah or Ros. Please, pick up and take a few minutes to meet and chat with them – this is not only a great opportunity for you to meet them, but also for them to get to know more about you, too!
Since our ability to hold regular programming is fluid and our building remains closed until Monday, April 6th we wanted to let you know we are looking into different ways, both digitally and otherwise, for us to provide some kind of programming to you. We will be rolling these out as they become available, so keep watching. Staff is in the building and available to answer any questions and provide information to you. Please call us at 781-235-3961 if even just to talk to us, we want to make you feel as connected to the TPC as possible. We may have had to cancel our Peabody Essex Museum Tour next week, but thanks to the internet, we can go onto their YouTube channel and learn all the different activities they have to offer. You can even learn some origami!https://www.youtube.com/user/peabodyessexmuseum/videosNeed an escape? Please note that - CASINO NIGHT is CANCELLED for this Saturday, March 21st and will be RESCHEDULED for a later date. Support Kelsey Merriam’s Marathon Run
Kelsey Merriam will run the Boston Marathon this fall to raise funds for the Friends of the Wellesley Council on Aging, representing one of the Town of Wellesley designated charities. Kelsey has set a fundraising goal of $6,000, and with your help, we can cheer her on and exceed that goal! Although the Marathon date has changed, raising funds for our dedicated runner continues. In fact, because of the change in the schedule, we have a unique opportunity to collect even more money for the benefit of the Seniors. As always, small donations are always welcome. Kelsey is excited to represent Wellesley residents 60 and over and help provide funds for the services and programs provided by the Wellesley Council on Aging. You can support Kelsey and the COA by cheering her on and making your contribution payable to the Friends of Wellesley Council on Aging Marathon Fund, and mail to P.O. Box 812422 , Wellesley, MA 02482, or online by visiting www.wellesleyfriendscoa.org and click on the button “Donate to Boston Marathon”.
