Two Wellesley elementary schools were recently honored by the Commonwealth for high academic achievement.
Katharine Lee Bates Elementary and John D. Hardy elementary were named 2018 Massachusetts Schools of Recognition at a Statehouse ceremony on Friday, June 7.
Bates and Hardy are among 57 schools across the state receiving this distinction, which recognizes the efforts of teachers and students for high achievement, high growth and significantly exceeding their targets.
Bates was recognized for high growth and achievement, and exceeding targets on the 2018 MCAS (Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System) tests. Hardy was also recognized for high achievement and exceeding targets. The school awards were initially announced in September 2018.
