The Fire Prevention Office, in the Wellesley Fire/Rescue Department, directs fire prevention activities. It handles the more technical fire prevention problems, maintains appropriate records, grants permits, investigates the causes of fires, and conducts public education programs. All commercial or multiple-dwelling buildings are inspected at regular intervals, and orders are issued for the correction of violations of fire laws. If necessary, court action is taken to compel compliance.
The Office hours at Fire Prevention are Monday thru Friday from 7 am to 5 pm.
Home Inspections will be performed between the hours of 9:30 am to 12:00 pm on Monday thru Friday, please call the office at 781-235-1300 x-6229 to schedule your appointment. We ask for 1 weeks's notice to schedule a time and please remember the 26f certificates are good for 60 days.
Commercial Inspections will be done by the order they are received and can be scheduled by calling the Fire Prevention office.
