Advisory Committee
The Advisory Committee has broad review powers and reporting requirements, which are set out in Article 11 of the Town Bylaws.

Audit Committee
The Audit Committee is responsible for appointing the independent accountant who performs an annual audit of the financial statements of the Town.

The three-person, elected Board of Public Works oversees the Department of Public Works (DPW), which consists of the following programs: Engineering, Park, Highway, Recycling & Disposal, Management Services, Water, and Sewer.

Climate Action Committee
The Climate Action Committee proposes sustainable energy goals, to reduce Town greenhouse gas emissions from the municipal, residential, commercial, industrial and institutional sectors.

Historical Commission

Housing Authority
The Wellesley Housing Authority (WHA) is a State and Federally funded public housing authority located in the town of Wellesley, Massachusetts. The WHA owns or manages a total of 246 rental units or housing opportunities.

Housing Development Corporation
The Wellesley Housing Development Corporation's mission is to sponsor and assist in the development of affordable housing opportunities for persons of low and moderate income in the Town of Wellesley, Massachusetts in order to implement the Town's Affordable Housing Policy.

Human Resources Board
The Board appoints a Human Resources Director and such staff, as it deems necessary. The Board oversees the Human Resources Director and staff in administering the classification and salary plans and establishing policies and procedures consistent with those plans.

Library Trustees
Trustees deal with the general oversight of all library services and policies. Through an ongoing planning process, they assess the Library’s needs and its role in town. They establish policies and procedures for the Library that reflect the needs of the community and which are consistent with national standards set by the American Library Association.

Municipal Light Board
The five-person, Municipal Light Board oversees the Wellesley Municipal Light Plant. The board consists of the three elected Board of Public Works Commissioners and two members appointed by the Board of Selectman.

Natural Resources Commission (NRC)
It is the mission of the Natural Resources Commission to provide stewardship, education and advocacy of the Town of Wellesley park, conservation, and open space system.

Wetlands Protection Committee
Wellesley's wetlands are protected by the Wetlands Protection Committee which works to preserve town lakes, rivers, streams and other wetland areas under the guidelines of the Wellesley Wetlands Protection bylaw and the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, and reviews and permits any proposed work within these areas.

Zoning Board of Appeals
The ZBA is a quasi-judicial board which interprets and enforces the town Zoning Bylaw, hears and decides on petitions for appeals of town officer or board orders, Chapter 40B comprehensive permits, site plan approvals, special permits and variances.
