Wellesley DPW Touch-A-Truck / Fill-A-Truck Event!
Touch and fill the Department of Public Works (DPW) trucks Saturday, May 20th, from 9am – 12 pm at the DPW!
Celebrate National Public Works Week as we recognize the outstanding efforts of the Wellesley DPW staff and take a look at the big trucks up close. A variety of equipment will be open for visitors to explore during the Touch-A-Truck event at the DPW Headquarters (30 Municipal Way). Take a look at our electric equipment, dump trucks, street sweepers, front loaders and so much more!
Bring a non-perishable food donation to help Fill-A-Truck! All donated food will go to the Wellesley Food Pantry which currently serves approximately 420 clients and about 200 households in town. One third of the clients are children 18 years old and younger. Desired donations include:
- Canned peas
- Canned beets
- Canned pears, in juice
- Canned mandarin oranges, in juice
- Canned fruit cocktail, in juice
- Canned peaches, in juice
- Pasta sauce in jars, all types
- Spaghetti and thin spaghetti
- Canned tomato sauce
- Canned solid white tune, 5 oz cans, in water
- Refried beans
- Cereal, all types
- Boxed mashed potatoes
- Almond butter, creamy, 16 oz size
- Pancake or waffle mixes
- Nuts
StepUp! Your donation efforts this year and donate business clothing to Suits for Success. This organization helps provide appropriate attire for men and women to wear to employment interviews. One suit can help change someone’s life.
