Micro-transit is a curb-to-curb ride share service similar to Uber or Lyft that is run by the MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA). Micro-transit works with the existing public transportation infrastructure such as train and bus services to help solve first-mile, last-mile service gaps and provide ride share service in and around Wellesley.
This MWRTA service is called "Catch Connect" and is available by using the MWRTA Catch app on a smartphone. Use the app anywhere in Wellesley to catch the mini bus to destinations including the following locations outside Wellesley:
Newton Wellesley Hospital
Woodland and Waban T stations
Natick Community Center
Volante Farms, Needham
Trader Joe's, Needham
"Catch Connect" service is first-come, first-served and wait times for pick up average between 10 - 30 minutes. Service hours are 6:45 a.m. to 6:54 p.m. Monday through Friday. Mini-buses are fully accessible. The service is currently free; fares between $2.00 and $3.00 will begin in fall 2021.
