Study Process and Work Plan

The Feasibility Study includes:

  • Full building study and site analysis, including an historic assessment of the existing school;
  • Determination of educational programming needs;
  • Fit testing, initial concept plans and development of options;
  • Analysis of swing space options; and
  • Environmental audit of the site and potential opportunities for sustainability and conservation.

The School Building Committee (SBC) will evaluate the data generated by the professional team and the feedback provided by the community to narrow a long list of design options to a short list of three or four options that will be studied in detail.

Following the detailed study and further opportunities for community input and feedback, the SBC, the School Committee and the Board of Selectmen will arrive at a preferred solution.

The preferred solution will then be presented to Annual Town Meeting with a request for design funds.
