Summer Day Camp Director(s) 2008
1.) *Camp Quest
The Wellesley Recreation Department is currently looking for a Camp Director for their summer day camp (8 – 12 years old) that will begin June 23, 2008. Duties will include, but are not limited to, programming and maintaining the daily camp schedule and its activities. As well as supervise, assign duties, and evaluate a staff of 10+ counselors. The ideal candidate must be at least 21 years old, have completed or working towards a four year degree in recreation, education or physical education, with a minimum of one year supervisory experience. Must have previous camp experience. This is an hourly position that ranges from $15 - $20 per hour. Applications can be obtained by contacting the Wellesley Recreation Department or click here. The Wellesley Recreation Department is always looking to offer new and innovative programs. If you have any suggestions for a program or would like to teach one, please contact us. Contact Matthew Chin for Adult Programs and Melissa Anderson for Youth and Teen programs.
Lifeguards
Lifeguards must be at least 16 years old and currently certified in American Redcross Lifeguard Taining, CPR - FPR & First Aid. Canidates must also be able to commit to the entire summer work schedule (mid June - late August).
*Counselors for Camp Joey ( Age 5-7 ) & Camp Quest ( Age 8- 12)
Camp Counselors would be responsible for, but not limited to: Assisting the Camp Directors with the daily implementation of the camp curriculum, the supervision and safety of all of the camp participants, and attending, the training session which will be held the week before camp begins. Camp begins at the end of June and ends at the end of August , Monday –Friday from 8:00 am - 4:45 pm. The summer camp counselor position is hourly and dependant on experience. The camp counselors must be 16 years old prior to the beginning of the camp.
