The Wellesley Recreation Department is always looking to offer new and innovative programs. If you have any suggestions for a program or would like to teach one, please contact us. Contact Matthew Chin for Adult Programs or Tim Kennedy for Youth and Teen programs.
Lifeguards
Lifeguards must be at least 16 years old and currently certified in American Red Cross Lifeguard Taining, CPR - FPR & First Aid. Candidates must also be able to commit to the entire summer work schedule ( late May or early June - late August). Summer staff do not get vacation time or sick days.
*Counselors for Camp Joey ( Age 5-7 ) & Camp Quest ( Age 8- 9) & Odyssey ( Age 10-12)
Camp Counselors are responsible for: Assisting the Camp Directors with the implementation of the camp curriculum, supervising camp participants, providing a safe environment for campers, being creative, upbeat and fun! You must attend a training session which will be held the week before camp begins. Camp begins at the end of June and concludes at the end of August. Camp hours are: Monday –Friday from 8:00 am - 4:45 pm. The summer camp counselor position is hourly and hiring is dependant on experience. There will also be one overnight that you will be required to work. The camp counselors must be 18 years old prior to the beginning of the camp. Summer staff do not get vacation time or sick days.
