Ice Safety and Options
Pic above taken last year when a group of kids beat a group of firefighters in town in an impromptu pic up game.
Anyone interested in a game against some firefighters, just message us at our Facebook page
Wellesley Fire Rescue would like to remind our residents that even though the weather is getting colder and you may see some people out on the ice, there are other safer options in town. We would also like to remind the residents that the ice is not checked for thickness or safety. Please check out the Massachusetts Fire Marshall's tips here (Last year's dog rescue made the state's front page!)
Wellesley is very lucky to have all their members trained in ice rescue (see here) but the safest way to not get into trouble on the ice is to stay off the ice.
Wellesley Fire Rescue helped assist the Rec Department to erect ice rinks in town that are free to the public and a lot of fun! You can find the rules and directions here. The ice rinks seem to be in great shape all winter long! Please
check them out and check out and have a lot of fun!
