Birth Certificates
Certified copies of birth certificates can be obtained from the Town Clerk's Office. Birth certificates are on file for births which occurred in Wellesley, or for children whose parent(s) were residing in Wellesley at the time of the birth. (Please note Newton Wellesley Hospital is in the City of Newton)
The fee for a birth certificate is $10.00 per certified copy. Please include the full birth name, date of birth and name of the mother for any requests.
A certified copy of birth certificate can be obtained in person during business hours or by mail.

Death Certificates
Certified copies of death certificates can be obtained from the Town Clerk's Office.
Death certificates are on file for decedents who were pronounced in the Town of Wellesley, or who resided in the Town of Wellesley at the time of death. Persons who died out of state will not a have a record on file in the Town of Wellesley.
The fee for a death certificate is $10.00 per certified copy. Please include with your request the decedent's full name and date of death.

Marriage Certificates
Certified copies of marriage certificates can be obtained at the Town Clerk's Office. The record of marriage will only be here if the bride and groom filed for the marriage intention (application) in the town of Wellesley.
The fee for a marriage certificate is $10.00 per certified copy. Please include with your request the bride's maiden name and the groom's name as well as the date of marriage.

A certification or legalization is generally necessary for documents which leave the United States. Common types of documents which require certification for acceptance into a foreign country include documents for an international adoption, diplomas from an American college or university and various types of records and contracts integral to a company which does business in a foreign country. This certification is obtained from the Secretary of State's office. Please see link above.
