AN INVITATION
As you know, Article 27 appropriating funds to conduct a feasibility study on establishing a stand- alone Senior Center for our town was approved on April 15th. The Senior Study Committee’s charge now is to hear from as many residents as possible in a very short time span.
Are you, your loved ones, your parents or your neighbors looking for an environment that is caring, uplifting and meets the diverse needs of residents as they age? Have you wondered how you will make and keep connections as you transition from 50 to 90 and beyond? Have you imagined what a stand alone center might look like?
If so, we invite those of you who are interested to participate in a focus group to answer the following questions:
1. What would make a standalone Senior Center appealing?
2. What activities, facilities or services would bring you or others (i.e. parents, neighbors and friends) to the Senior Center?
3. How could it be responsive to residents needs/desires:
a. Now?
b. In 5 years?
c. In 10 years?
4. How could a Senior Center help to foster collaboration and connection amongst and across generations?
5. What else should we be asking?
