Zoning Articles for 2019 Annual Town Meeting
The following Planning-Board-sponsored articles to amend the Zoning Bylaw or Zoning Map are included on the warrant for the 2019 Annual Town Meeting. In addition to a brief description of the articles, this page includes links to the warrant articles and the Public Hearing notice.
The Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing to discuss these articles at the Board's regular meeting on Monday, February 4, 2019. Link to the Public Hearing Notice.
Following the public hearing, the Planning Board will issue a report to include recommendations on the Articles that will be included in the Advisory Book and submitted to Town Meeting.
Article A - Zoning Bylaw Renumbering, Rearrangement, and Correction
This article seeks to amend the Zoning Bylaw to change the manner in which the Sections are numbered from roman numerals to arabic numbers and make other changes to the arrangement of the Bylaw. The goal of these changes is to improve ease-of-use and organization.
Article B - Section I, General Provisions
This article seeks to amend the Zoning Bylaw by creating a new Section I, General Provisions that would incorporate elements of a number of other Sections of the Bylaw. This effort is the first step in a long-term process of recodification of the Bylaw. The goal of these changes is to modernize the Town's Zoning Bylaw and improve ease-of-use and organization.
Article C - Off-Street Parking Bylaw
This article seeks to amend the Zoning Bylaw to readopt Section XXI, Off-Street Parking in its amended form. The changes made to the Bylaw do not alter the parking requirements or design standards but clarify the applicability and administration of the Bylaw to improve its implementation by Town staff.
Article D - Outdoor Lighting
This article seeks to amend the Zoning Bylaw to add a new section: Section XVIG, Outdoor Lighting. This Section would regulate the installation and use of outdoor lighting in association with certain projects (non-residential).
Article E - Zoning Map Corrections - Phase 3
This article seeks to amend the Zoning Map to correct discrepancies identified by Town staff. This is the third phase of zoning map corrections.
Article F - Rezoning of 999 Worcester Street
This article seeks to amend the Zoning Map to rezone a portion of the property at 999 Worcester Street such that the entire property will be located in the Business District.
